That just about wraps it up. Some other notes: Spellfire wielders can absorb magic (very much like the rod of absorption). They can store a certain number of spell levels and release them either to blast foes (It's supernatural afaik, so it ignores SR and such things)or heal themselves. There's a PrC - Spellfire Channeler - that improves the powers of Spellfire. There's even an Epic PrC - Spellfire Adept afaik - on the wizards site somewhere (I think at epic insights). There are only a very few Spellfire wielders at any given time (until recently, it was the common theory that it was a single person, but it seems that there are at least a handful of them around). It is both a blessing and a course - the latter because every power-hungry individual or organization (both of which Faerûn has its fill) seek those individuals to corrupt or capture for experiments (trying to get the power in their hands). At least in the Forgotten Realms, Spellfire wielders are among the few that can use raw magic (the Chosen's Silver Fire is a weaker form of Spellfire), while the rest must either use the power their gods gave them or use the Weave (or the Shadow Weave, but that's a well-guarded secret), which can be described as an Interface between Spellcaster and Magic, maintained by the Deity of Magic (Mystra at the moment). Said deity can cut off beings - even other gods - from the weave and rob them of their magical ability. (Shar can do the same with the Shadow Weave).
