[QUOTE="Yaarel, post: 8722389, member: 58172"] Thri-kreen. I have a feeling alot of thought went into the extra arms. Here, the solution is, they are "secondary arms", not primary arms. Each secondary arm can only manipulate a Tiny object or light weapon. So, the extra arms can be used in combat. But, there is still only one action and one bonus action. [S]So, it looks like a heavy weapon (two hands) action plus a light weapon (secondary hand) bonus action. There is extra heavy damage-dealing − and I wonder what char-ops will do with it.[/S] [edit: Unfortunately the wording of two-weapon Fighting specifies "one-handed", making a two-handed weapon unusable with a bonus weapon attack. But a gish with two weapons, shield, and freehand for spells is looking good.] An earlier UA is similar and this confirms it, but the reference to a Tiny object makes for a flavorful feel. So far, it seems to balance. The telepathy is "fake", lacking two-way communication. It is a ribbon, but the flavor is effective. The idea is, their mandibles are unable to make human sounds, or any other non thri-kreen sound, so they project their words telepathically instead, then listen while the target speaks back to them outloud. The carapace of Chameleon Carapace is awesome. Even better than free Mage Armor because it is permanently in effect. Better than chainmail. AC 13 + full Dexterity bonus. Plus a shield if they want. Even scale and plate are possible but then they lose the Dex. Specific over general, it seems, the thri-kreen Monk gets 13 + Dex + Wis. Pretty nice. Then the chameleon is advantage to Stealth to hide. Excellent. Plus the ubiquitous Darkvision. Why would anyone not have it! Humans are so stupid! Finally, Sleepless, a ribbon, slightly useful for guard duty. Like elves they dont sleep, but they do require all 8 hours for rest. All-in-all, the thri-kreen are a solid race. (But lets see what char-ops can do with their damage dealing potential.) (Thri-kreen Paladin?) Oh, right. They are a monstrosity creature type. Between the beastly owlbear and the humanoid-ish intelligent thri-kreen, I am less sure what a "monstrosity" actually is. The lizardfolk is humanoid, but the Ssurran who are also lizardfolk are monstrosity, so really dont know what a monstrosity is. But I like that types other than humanoid are playable.
