Spells that grant Free actions?

RUMBLETiGER

Adventurer
Cloud of Knives is a low level spell that grants the caster a free action attack each round of the duration.

What other spells do something similar, once cast they grant the beneficiary some effect that doesn't take actions to do?

Summon Monster etc. spells come to mind as well. Summon and command as a free action.

I'm trying to figure what sorts of spells a caster can stack to grant options/free actions.

Battlemagic Perception allows you to counterspell as a free action within 100 feet of you.

Less impressive are the Instant Search and Instant Locksmith spells. Both allows for a single check as a free action.

And Gutsnake grows... uh, a tentacle with a pair of jaws on your... stomach, that you can use once a turn freely as if it was a giant constrictor. Holy balls, somebody among the writers of Magic of Faerun was dead bored one day.

Excellent! These are examples of what I was looking for. I've never heard of Battlemagic Perception, good find!

Are non-spell option interesting as well?
A familiar can do all sorts of usefull stuff provided the caster is ok with taking the risk the familiar may become a target.
And then there is the Belt of Battle from Magic Item Compendium, which (apart from granting +2 on initiative) has 3 charges a day and can give you an extra move action (1 charge), standard action (2 charges) or full round action (3 charges). Activation is a swift action.

Very good suggestions.
