[Spellslinger] (FFG) - Anybody using it?

I've read alot of good reviews about FFG Horizon's Spellslinger mini-RPG. It's intrigued me enough that, rather than running a typical deadlands style horror western campaign and/or straight historical western, I've been considering running a "medieval fantasy western", like Spellslinger (I guess that's the simplest way to lay out the difference).

Is anybody out there currently running a Spellslinger adventure, or even just tried a one-shot session? I'm interesting in some actual play-test reviews. Some advice or suggestions about gameplay that anybody has found after using the Spellslinger system; general feedback or comments.

I ran a mini-campaign with it using some short adventures from Dungeon adapted to a more western feel. It was pretty easy to just fudge the conversions for most of the foes. The Spellslinger classes are more powerful than standard d20, but the book will tell you that. It was a fun game, but I don't think it would be sustainable for long-term play the way I did it. The feat-based magic system is very cool. That feature was probably the deciding factor for me to run it. If I had it to do over again, I would probably make it more historical with the non-spellcasting PC classes from the PHB or the NPC classes from the DMG. The setting information is nice and short, so it could be imported easily. Spellslinger also has a nice take on undead that could be fun to play for a more horrific game.
