Why didn't you just do some math yourself then? You asked for feedback. It takes more work to do the math and write the post than it does to read it. If someone who asks for help isn't willing to put the effort into accepting it there's a lot less incentive for the people who give the help to put any effort into it either. Aside from the friendly bard banter at the beginning and end, the bulk of that post is just data tables that can be skipped so it's not as long as it seems. Those are in there to help you understand what impacts your level range so that you can gauge how much adjustment you need to get to where you want. As it is, your +8 proficiency system would, for example, give a STR character at the high end of proficiency wins about 85% of the time over a STR character at +2 proficiency in opposed checks. Your premise is that's not good enough so what is? Figure that out and then you would know what to adjust and where. As I said in my longer post, the bard part is actually irrelevant to the premise of adjusting the basic spread. What you just post doesn't actually demonstrate that premise, however, because a bard in the same system with the same basic spread would just allow for doubling up using a hit die or saving that hit die to use bardic inspiration instead. Bard bonuses are in addition to standard mechanics. I would point out that you have told me several times you do not like bards and your players don't play them. That leads me to the conclusion you do not have the play experience to really evaluate those restrictions so I'll share mine. 10 minute time limit -- [I] This does not present an issue.
