(Spoilers) A Feast for Crows News

First Post
From Martins own website (apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere, all emphisis is mine)

STILL SORRY. STILL NOT DONE YET.

I continue to make progress on A FEAST FOR CROWS, but more slowly than I would like. In recognition of the fact that the book has not yet been completed or delivered, my publishers both in the US and UK have finally changed the April pubdate to something more realistic... but until such time as I actually deliver the book, any publication date is pure guesswork.

I am still writing as fast as I can. The moment the book is done I will announce it here. The instant. The second. So if you visit my website, and this notice is still in place, it means I'm still writing.

I have been receiving a great many emails from my readers since I posted the first version of this announcement, the vast majority of them telling me to take my time, that the quality of the book is what matters most to them. That is what matters most to me as well. "We will still be here when you are done," one reader says. I do appreciate that, more than I can say. I wish I could promise that the novel will be done tomorrow, but it won't be. It is a very long book, and a very complex one. I can only write one page at a time, and trust that in the end my readers will agree that A FEAST FOR CROWS was worth the wait.

Meanwhile, for those who cannot wait another six months or so to return to the Seven Kingdoms, there will be a novella-length excerpt from the fourth book in the March issue of DRAGON magazine, which should be on sale in most good newsstands and gaming stores by late February.

The novella is titled "Arms of the Kraken," and is part of the Prologue of A FEAST FOR CROWS, although the action overlaps the end of A STORM OF SWORDS. Set on the storm-swept Iron Islands, "Arms of the Kraken" tells the story of the struggle for the Seastone Chair after the death of Balon Greyjoy, and sets the stage for some important developments in A FEAST FOR CROWS. You will find it in DRAGON, issue #305.

Meanwhile, I thank you once again for your patience.

after the death of Balon Greyjoy--George R.R. Martin [/B]

Dunno if Martin thought about this on his site, but how about a SPOILERS warning here! Some of us only recently found out about this great series (from our friends at ENWorld) and are devouring it now.

Thanks.

Thanks for the fix.

I am pretty careful about the threads on this series, as anything can happen, but I didn't expect Martin to have a spoiler on his site! I check there for updates on when Crows will come out, so I would have seen it there anyway, don't feel bad.

I am working to finish A Storm of Swords before Dragon comes out, but I may just hang on to the Dragon novella to tide me over when I get a craving for more while waiting for Crows.

I can't wait. I just Finished rereading the first book and will read some other stuff before I start the second one becasue of the delayed release.

Personal opinion, the first book is the least of the three so far. I heartily recommend waiting for the fourth book before reading the third. The implications at the end are simply staggering.

PS

I was recently talking to another fan of the series, and he had an interpretation of something at the end of SoS that I couldn't even imagine someone believing.

He was of the opinion that Catelyn Stark survived the Red Wedding! It's pretty clear she died and was revived by the Red Priest, right? I'm not insane thinking that am I?

I have read all three and would agree with you. I wnated to reread them for the spring release of Crows, but since it is now September or later, I will hold off starting on the others. Now, the questions is, What to read?

I am thinking of checking out Lord of Light by Zelazney. I read lots of positive comments on this site.
