Spore Available For Preorder!

I was looking up some other stuff on Amazon.com and came across their Spore page.

Spore is to be released on September 7th. Place your pre-order now as it is likely to sell like hot potatoes!

It sounds interesting, but I stopped getting excited about PC releases years ago. Too much vaporware, too many bugs, too many big name games released when they're still in a late beta stage. And September is far enough out that this could easily slip into next year (or never).

All that said, if it comes out, I'll take a look at the reviews and see if it lives up to its promise. Thanks for the heads-up - I hadn't heard of this one.

Intelligent design, actually, since you design the critters (not to mention, someone wrote the game itself, it didn't just appear out of nothingness)

It's sort of a strange game, I don't know how people will like it. Because it starts off as sort of a sim game, but at the largest scale, it seems to be like a space 4x game (once your critters leave the planet)

This one is a Will Wright game. It will come out this year and is in the bug testing and polish phase right now. Couldn't hurt to give it a look, right? Simply by posting in this thread means that you have SOME interest.

Once I got my Wii and 360, I looked over at my poor PC and told it, "Don't worry, buddy. Spore is coming..."

I'll make sure to put in the pre-order when I go pick up SSBB next weekend.

I'm completley over it since I became excited for its release about 4 years ago.

It's already been ported to hand-helds, so I have very little hope for the final product.

Victim of marketing and ROI, I believe.
