Standard print books errata'd yet?

Forked from: Core Rules PDF's errata'd yet?

The standard print core books will see it on their next reprint and that date depends on the rate of inventory movement.

Hi Scott,

how big are the chances that updated core books will be available when PHB 2 comes out?

I really would like to buy the 4th edition books, but i was really disappointed with obvious errors (like a previewed brute doing less damage on melee than a ranged attack)...

However, i got over my disappointments and really think 4e is worth its money, but i really don´t want to buy an outdated book if it will be reprinted one week later or so (like i did with PHB 3.5)

So how are my chances to be able to buy a full set of core rules with all current erratas included in march?

Huh.

I was under the distinct impression that 4e core books (the non-deluxe ones) are never going to be printed to account for errata, as was the case with 3e.

So. . . huh. :hmm:

Not that it matters to me, by the way. But now I'm curious, dammit. :)

Curious here as well.... I've subscribed to this thread. Not really fussed whether our group continues with 3.5 or migrates to 4.0, but I am reluctant to pay for books with significant errors when they should include errata in future printings.

The 3e books were reprinted with errata.

WotC has already stated that when it's time to do a new print run, the 4e books will be updated for errata. Why would they not do this?

Actually I really intended to wait to buy the 3.5 books until erratas were included... then on a day when i had money and i was in a good mood, i bought PHB 3.5 and some more books... (i forgot the reason i waited so long)
and then one week later i have seen the new erratad book in the FLGS where i bought my new book...

I really would like to have an erratad book (most important are DMG 1 and Monster Manual 1 because those books are usually bought only once, where the PHB is usually bought by 2 or 3 Persons on the table at different times...)

My mistake then. It's only what I heard on the interwebs. Er, like right now actually. ;)

But I'm willing to believe the latest take on it, and like I said, it doesn't even mean much to me personally, anyhow! :)

Good question, if it is the case.

WotC should take a cue from SJ Games and clearly write the printing outside the book, so that it is easy to understand which "version" you're actually buying.

Well, in fairness, SJG doesn't really do this either — yes, different editions are clearly marked on the outside cover of SJG books but, typically, the reprints and revisions are noted in the same place that WotC notes them (on the title page, in tiny print).

I have in my hands GURPS Thaumatology. On the back cover there is a small white rectangle which states 1st Edition, 1st Printing, Published October 2008.

They have the same information in all their books published in last years.
