Hey everyone Frog overlord here, We are back for another deep dive into the Star Marshal campaign more specifically into how the game actually work (Which I can confirm it does from some recent playtesting although it is a punishing experience). We have just under two weeks to go with 3/5 stretch goals unlocked so go check it out now on kickstarter whilst you can and become the Marshal you were always meant to be! What is a Star Marshal? How does the game actually work? Most of our card games play of a standard playing deck (We do offer a bespoke custom deck also) and Star Marshal is no different. The cards are split into four sections and then merged together to form various decks:

Locations - These cards are drawn first & form the location deck.
Opponents - Form the Citizen deck.
NPCs - Mixed with the opponents to complete the Citizen deck.
Interior room cards - There are 4 specific locations that can be explored these cards are split into 4 smaller decks forming the interior of the location.
Four joker cards - These are the end phase but we're playing that closer to the chest for now!
Locations & Interior room cards These are relatively self explanatory simply being the places you can visit in game. Each turn you will draw one and choose from the range of options and draw from the citizen deck. (A mix of opponents and NPCs) In some cases you will have the option to Explore when choosing this option you will enter the location and draw from the Interior room cards (purple title) each of these cards acts as a separate room inside the location itself and each will have their own unique event that you'll have to encounter. In this specific example, there are two additional rooms to explore but we don't want to reveal everything now! Being on a hostile planet you don't know who's around the next corner so with the citizen deck every card is a mystery and potentially your last. As mentioned in the location description these are drawn when visting said locations. Each opponent will have their own special skills and stat blocks typically the higher the card value the more dangerous of an enemy you'r encountering but with the special skills we've made each opponent dangerous in their own right so don't get too cocky. As well if that sounds good then check out our kickstarter page where we release separate updates to this!
