I was wrong to stay away from the show for as long as I did. It has its problems, but those aren't the problems that the original show had. It's using the names from the old show, and the 10,000-foot view of the show is the same, but that's about it. If you did that with TOS, there'd be rioting in the streets.I'd love to see a different show-concept in the Star Trek universe -- maybe Homicide: Life on the Trek, a procedural in the universe, or maybe Section 31, a spy-game show in that universe, or maybe Trek Wing, a political show following the work of the UFP President and his staff. Or they give Peter David a lot of money and make his New Frontier into a series.</blockquote>
