Message: <blockquote data-quote="James Gasik" data-source="post: 9708761" data-attributes="member: 6877472">I love this show so much.  Anson Mount is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors.  There's a lot of fanservice for fanservice's sake, but it's less jarring than the Kelvin timeline films for me.The timeline is screwy as heck, but at least they've set up reasons why.  Encountering Trelane long before Kirk does (with the cheeky bastich even mentioning Tribbles, no less!) is a prime example.There's silly episodes, but for the most part they've been fun- and really, it's not like silly stuff hasn't been canonized since the very beginning.  The tonal whiplash is real though, it's hard to go from "war is hell" to "haha, Trelane, he's so funny!" though at least one character is holding onto some serious PTSD- I'm glad they're doing more with Ortegas finally- love the character, but she's become something of a meme with her "I fly the ship" mantra.Prequels are funny things.  You know what's supposed to happen (which is why it's hard for me to get attached to Sam), but with the timeline being as fuzzy as it is, it keeps me guessing.Finally, I love Pelia, but I miss Hemmer so much!</blockquote>
