Large scale anyway.  Books never really recovered after that imho at least the Skywalker family ones. The good stuff was comics , Sith stuff and different timeliness eh Old Republic, Legacy etc.  90s was all over the place uality and thematic wise. Post NJO they tightened up on that so it was more coherent.  Most of it was typical EU, some outright stinkers and sone great stuff. Novels peaked 90s, creativity wise probably 2002-  2012 ymmv of course. Skywalker mostly played out by early 2000 imho.</blockquote>
