This IS the most fun playing Star Wars I have ever had.

EVER. Like, I have played them all and this one, in Beta form, is the most fun of all of them.

I don't think it would be all that hard to teach to kids provided the ones in question had the patience and attention span necessary to learn any other rpg. The dice that catch older gamers up might just be a no-brainer for them.

Additionally, FFG is releasing a Beginner Game (rules lite version), that looks to be packaged and presented very similarly to the Pathfinder Beginner Box. That product is supposedly being released sooner than the full depth rpg.
