Message: <blockquote data-quote="humble minion" data-source="post: 1601508" data-attributes="member: 5948">BecketVelar, make sure your friend is very, very careful about copyright issues, especially as he is distributing the program online.  Up until a year or so ago, there was a very comprehensive and robust piece of free character (and starship, and vehicle, and droid) generator software called Okina-rdae, which was shut down after legal threats from WotC.  There is some sort of monopolistic contract that means only Lucasarts can distribute Star Wars related software, and if Wizards want to keep their RPG license then they have to do their bit in ensuring nobody uses the RPG side of things to get round this.  Yes, it stinks, it defies all logic, and anyone trying to enforce this while there is no useful piece of chargen software on the market deserves a quick kick in the groin, but that's the way it is, I'm afraid.</blockquote>
