His incarceration made him bitter and angry towards the Republic, despite his situation being entirely his fault, and was unspokenly disowned by Clan Udo out of great shame for his failings after his release. With no one to rely on, the young Kiffar left his homeworld for the Capital of the Empire on Coruscant in search of a life of his own, eventually landing a position as an Imperial Guardsman in the Lower City of Coruscant to counter-act the various swoop gangs that populated its recesses. It was a fairly easy job, considering the Republic and the Empire were at war with one another. Besides, the pay and benefits were fantastic, and for a short period of time, Khyber thought that perhaps this occupation could really turn his streak of ill-luck around. Suffice it to say that it wouldn't.

After eavesdropping on an Imperial Officer and a high-ranking member of the infamous Skulls swoop gang plotting to incite mayhem as bait for another gang, Kyber's faith in the Empire was swayed heavily as the greater of two evils. In an act of desperation to prevent civillians being dragged into the crossfire, he sought out Finegan Flint of the rival Knights swoop gang and leaked the plot to lure them out by using the Skulls to him and his slightly-more-noble revolutionaries. With his act of treason against the Empire warranting him a hefty price on his head, Kyber joined the Knights instinctively for survival, and through his time spent with Flint and his pro-Republic compatriots, his self-delusions of anti-Republic sentiment was deminished, going so far as to man a swoop himself against the Empire and the Skulls. It was only after a devastating Imperial raid on the Knights' headquarters that prompted Kyber to abandon his rebellious comrades, but was captured before he could escape Coruscant to the Outer Rim by bounty hunters. Bound and awaiting court marshal and the death penalty, it's only through a one in a trillion stroke of luck that saved his skin. Searching for other prospective students of the Force, a young Zabrak jedi by the name of Weland Yord stumbled across the imprisoned Clan Udo Kiffar, liberating Kyber and offering him a chance to return with him to learn the ways of the Force. Grateful for the rescue, Kyber nonetheless declined the offer, never being one that put much faith in all that sorcerous hallabaloo.

Once his escape from Coruscant via a hijacked shuttle alongside Yord was complete, Kyber made his way into the Outer Rim Territories of the Galaxy, finally settling on the gambling system of Elerion wherein he sold his services as a bodyguard and bouncer -- and later as a mercenary -- under the pseudonym Rush Quo-Din, most notably operating out of the Lucky Star Casino in the capital of Kushal Vogh. During his stay, Kyber enlisted in a lucrative venture as a mercenary-for-hire after overhearing a conversation between the Togruta Je'nysryl and her crew at a sabaac gambling parlor. His services were well appreciated aboard the Togruta's ship -- the Gallant Ghest -- and had earned him quite a hefty sum in credits for his natural affinity for the occupation, cashing in illicit dealers, protecting employers from rogue Assassin Droids, so on and so forth to etch a name for himself into the slate of society in the Outer Rim territories under the guise of Rush Quo-Din.

With the small fortune Kyber had accrued over the brief time spent in the service of Je'nysryl and her crew, he pooled his funds and financed his own ship -- The Thirsty Nerf -- to strike out on his own private venture of the same caliber, recruiting only two other crew members in order to help tend to the YT-2000 transport he'd acquired.

Life for a time was good. Under his alias, the Empire had little visible interest in the mercenary, and subsequently as a mercenary under a pseudonym, Kyber made a small fortune selling his unstated Pro-Republic services to the highest bidder. It wasn't until the blaster-for-hire took on a job for the subsidiary collection company Relekin Confidential, owned and operated as a front by the criminal organization known as the Tenloss Syndicate. It was a simple enough task: serve as extra muscle and assist agents in seizing property from a man known to be armed on a regular basis. After the completion of the assignment and awaiting payment for his rendered services, Kyber's employer sold him out to the Empire after divulging his identity. Betrayed, his ship was impounded and sent to some Imperial Impound Yard, while his crew and himself were thrown into an Imperial Prison on the Outer Rim planet of Dathomir while awaiting trial for treason.

Incarcerated for the second time in his life, the Clan Udo Kiffar refused to sit back and accept punishment this time, fighting the Imperials and enmasse bounty hunters that patrolled the facility at every turn, landing himself in solitary confinement -- among other, more insidious things -- on more than one occasion. Thankfully, fortune once more smiled upon him when a small group of Republic forces attacked the facility in a bid to incite an outbreak to free supposedly captive supporters of the Republic. In the uproar, violence and mayhem became the dish of the day, but it was through it that Kyber managed to escape on his own via a stolen Imperial Shuttle, leaving his crew behind purely on the premise that they had been seperated to other wings of the massive fractured planet-based facility. Before he could make the jump to lightspeed, he was intercepted by Republic forces under the assumption that he was in league with the Galactic Empire.

One lengthy life-story later to convince his newfound captors of his intentions, Udo found himself at an impasse. His career was spiraling the drain, the Empire had his ship and crew, and there was likely to be a new bounty on his head. With his identity compromised, no place in the galaxy was safe for him now that he'd managed to make the Empire's Wanted List. This left two viable alternatives: scuttle off to some back-world system beyond the Outer Rim or enlist in the Republic Military for protection and income. The latter choice, of course, seemed the most logical, especially after weighing the prospects of survival outside of civilized space. And so his life had come full circle, as it were. It wasn't long after the Republic Forces returned home that Kyber enlisted in the Republic Navy.

After signing a traditional four year contract, twenty weeks of intensive training saw him graduate from the Republic Naval Academy with moderately impressive marks as a Republic Marine, opening the venue for Officer Candidate School. Again, Udo was up to the challenge. While other prospective officers had expansive knowledge and degrees in regards to war, military tactics, and theories on the art thereof, Khyber merely had life experience to see him through as one of the oldest students at the school. After successfully graduating from OCS -- albeit with the lowest marks of his entire class -- with the rank of Ensign, the Kiffar went on to pursue advanced individual training as a Republic Fighter Pilot, narrowly passing the bar to successfully finish the course. Soon after, Khyber was moved onto an active duty Republic Frigate dubbed the RNS Taelros just before its recent launch back into space from the shipyards.[/sblock]

[sblock=Personality]Hard-bitten and often cynical, Kyber's been around the block enough times not to trust every two-credit spacer or Zeltronian femme fatale.
