Star Wars Saga - Help with Droid creation

Arrgh! Mark!

First Post
Hi guys!

I'm going to run a game this weekend and one character wanted to be a custom droid. I'm wondering how to do this idea -

Basically, one of those blue think tanks (Touch-coma?sp) without the giant pod on the back that people sit in from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

This requires -

Four legs

Claw hands with mounted blaster pistol/rifles in them

Possibly an empty e-web housing

Jumping servos

Climbing claws

Possibly some form of webbing she can shoot around the place. (Not neccesary)

A tool to slice into computers

A tool to do mechanic work.

Is this droid a possibility?

She wants it to be a scoundrel focused on computer use.

GITS-4 (Female-personality [Custom 2nd Degree Droid] Scoundrel 1)
Str 10 Dex 14 Con - Int 18 Wis 11 Cha 6
Defenses: Reflex 14 Fortitude 11 Will 12 [Damage Threshold 11]
Hit Points: 18
Trained Skills: Use Computer +14, Perception +5, Initiative +7, Mechanics +8, Acrobatics +7, Stealth +7, Pilot +7, Knowledge (Technology) +8.
Feats: Skill Focus (Use Computer), Point Blank Shot, Weapon Proficiency (Pistols, Simple)
Talent: Gimmick

Droid Accessories:
- Four-Legged Walking with Climbing Claws and Jump Servos (2880 credits)
- 2 Claws (40 credits)
- Internal Blaster Pistol Mount [with Blaster Pistol] (520 credits)
- Combination Computer-Use / Mechanics Tool (with Tool Kit) (260 credits)
- Heuristic Processor (Free)
- Vocabulator (50 credits)
- Locked Access (50 credits)
- Stabilized Mount [Heavy Repeating Blaster Rifle] (50 credits)
Total Cost: 3770 credits.

Sadly, an E-Web is out of the size usage of a medium sized droid, so a Heavy Repeater mount will have to do. The sticky web stuff; couldn't get that to work. Maybe a re-flavoring of the Dastardly Strike talent? The web is making them less mobile, thus shunting them down the condition track.

1000 Credits worth of droid parts is free, so the real final cost is 2770. The Scoundrel class starts with a maximum of 3000 credits, so you've got 230 credits to mess with. I suggest buying some diagnostic equipment if you can afford it; failing that, a Security Kit.

Nice! Thanks so much!

*Dutifully copies down*.

I couldn't work out how to do it with only the 1000 credits. I didn't think you could use the scoundrel starting fund to get into it. Oh well, it's nicely put together.

The slight change is it's going to be called T4-KM (Tee-kay). Other than that I think you've done a perfect job :D.

Thanks for the kind words, Mark. The trick is to put together a list of all the features you want, then pare out the things you can't figure out how to afford. Also, cheaper options start to make themselves evident, like combining the Comp-Use and Mechanics tools into one with a tool-kit (interchangeable tool tips, basically). Also, remember that you can trade out Simple Weapon Proficiency for another feat (or change your skills later) by making a Use Computer check (DC 17 and 1000 credits if the droid self-reprograms, DC 12 and free if another character reprograms the droid [assuming the other character has the feat trained]. Check out the reprogramming rules on page 193 for more information.

Always ALWAYS buy locked access and a vocabulator. Without locked access, any joe schlub could shut you off in a grapple. What fun is that?

Glad you liked the droid, but it was your idea, I just put the pieces together.
