Oh yes so:

I mean, “Starfighter” is better than “Attack of the Clones” but whatever.

Attack of the Clones has the virtues of not being almost identical to the title of another movie, and tells you something about the movie. I agree with the article, the title sounds like a placeholder for something that hasn’t been written yet. Like “Rise of Skywalker” was.

I always thought the "Clone Wars" thing in the prequels was a huge miss. I'm pretty sure the mention in Ep. 4 was just a throw-away line: "You served my father during the Clone Wars." Sounds cool and mysterious, and in a few words implies a vast history.

But here's the thing. The clones fought on the side of the Republic/pre-Empire. From the name, you'd expect the clones to be the enemies. It just feels off for the winners to refer to the war by their own troops, rather than the droids fighting for the enemy. Particularly that apparently the wars led to such distrust towards droids that they're regularly banned from cantinas.

And "Attack of the Clones"? When they attack, they're on the side of the heroes!

Better than just using the name of a relatively obscure character too. At least it gives you an idea of what you're going to get.

But here's the thing. The clones fought on the side of the Republic/pre-Empire. From the name, you'd expect the clones to be the enemies. It just feels off for the winners to refer to the war by their own troops, rather than the droids fighting for the enemy. Not to mention that it's "wars", plural. So there should be more than one. The prequels only gave us one clone war.

As for Gosling...

He may not have been in the most popular movies at times, but I can't think of a bad movie he's been in over the past decade.

He also has taken pretty good roles and does a decent job at acting.

That speaks as a positive in regards to how this film may turn out.

Gosling is generic and unmemorable. I’m sure he will do fine with the material he is given, but so could a much cheaper actor.

More worrying is focusing on him in the initial publicity. That suggests they have nothing else of note. If they had focused on the writing, or the world building or even a glimpse of a bit of a really cool starfighter, I wouldn’t be so worried.

Since when have the Star Wars films under Disney focused on worldbuilding? It's all spectacle, with little attention paid to whether or not the setting, or even the story, makes much sense. Rogue One was solid IMO, but most of the work was done for them.

Never, but there has been some in the TV shows. But everything we have learned about this movie suggests Disney has learned nothing apart from to appease the worst kind of toxic fans.

In the 80s the plan was for the clones to fight the Republic. This was also the basic idea in Heir to the Empire.
