Yup. I am sure there are mysogynistic (or maybe androphile fans) that want nothing but this, but the best Star Wars in the last decades for me was Andor, which didn't even have light sabers and features both men and women as protagonists or antagonists. And before that, it was probably Rogue One. But maybe I am not really a Star Wars fan, but I know that some fans really liked that, too. So you might be quite wrong, yours isn't a guaranteed winning formula, and the problems might not always be so simply reduced to some black and white issues. At the same time, I am not really into looking into any of these "controversy" stuff, most feels like click-bait made to enrage, whether it actually represents anyone's view or just represents the best way manipulate people emotionally to watch it, regardless of their own opinion would be guessing. The episode really didn't feel like was much happening, except for the ending, of course. Mae's re-awakening of force abilies or her relationship with Jecki, Sol or Yord really seem kinda... understated for such a short series. Does it really matter or amount to anything? The force thing for example - it's absolutely nothing we can really relate to, it's a lot more subtle than failing to move an object with your mind or waving a hand to make someone ignore you. "I sensed something" - so what, when you touched the creature, you sensed something? So what, when I touch some object or animal, I sense something to, texture, temperature, vibration or pulse! What makes this special, how was it to you before, what changed? And of course, Sol promises some new information, but only later, of course. It feels all a bit formulaic, a convenient way to tease us with something but not really enough meat. I guess the alleged Sith Master could be another survivor of Mae's family/temple, and maybe we'll see the Wookie in action in another flashback. But it felt a bit lame to not really deal with him further in this episode.
