I think that Yoda at least understood the problems Anakin would of had with his mother, that is the reason Jedi were trained from childhood. They didn't want Jedi to have any attachments but to being a Jedi. Anakin was a prime example of why they didn't want that. It's not that they didn't understand the bond between Anakin and his mother, it's that they new it would cloud his judgement, and it did. The Jedi council understood quite well, they were trying to weed out human frailty and weakness and replace it with the Jedi code, the older a child was the harder it would be. They knew exactly what they were doing, the training was set up that way. Anakin wasn't trained that way, he couldn't let go of his past. Whether the Jedi way was right or wrong, it is pretty typical, they weren't making good humans they were making warriors and judges who were only loyal to the Jedi code. If Qui Gon had any one redeming quality then it was that he saw beyond that and recognized how unflexable the order was. Qui Gon was idealistic brash, he made alot of decisions with his heart rather than his head. Obi Wan was one of Yoda's prize students and was supposed to be one of the strongest Jedi ever, what he lacked was experience, when he took on Anakin he was actually a Padawan himself, he didn't have the experience to train another Jedi, he just barely had the experience to be one. Que Gon was mistaken to even ask Anakin to try to train him, of course being that he was dying, he didn't have that many choices available to him. I think Dooku's argument would of had alot of effect on Que Gon, the Republic was broken, the Jedi were to stiff to adapt and take the steps needed. These were Arguements that Que Gon would of agreed with. Would he of seen that Dooku was Darth Tyrannus, well that depends on if he thought with his heart or with his head. I'm not saying he would of turned but he would of been torn by it, Obi Wan brushed the arguement aside. Dooku was right, the Republic was a mess and didn't function properly more, he was just taking the wrong path. The Stronger the Emperor got the weaker all the Jedi got, he was balanced against all the Jedi. That's why Sith Lords only had one student, any more would of weakened their own power. The fact that the Emperor marked out Anakin early makes me wonder how committed he was to Dooku.
