[QUOTE="Villano, post: 501525, member: 505"] Yeah, I always thought that Anakin's mom was left in slavery was pretty stupid. I mean, you'd think that Amadala (sp?) would have paid the little bug guy to free her as a reward to Anakin (she's a Queen so she's got more than enough money after all). Qui-Gon would probably have freed her immediately. Of course, Palpatine probably would have had her eventually killed anyway to help turn Anakin (in such a way as to place the blame on the incompetence of the jedi, most likely). And it wouldn't take much to convince anyone with the "incompetence of the jedi" excuse since the jedi really don't seem to be too bright in the prequels. Now, as to whether Qui-Gon would have joined Dooku or not. Hmmm...I doubt it. First, I don't think Qui-Gon was the type to hurt someone even if he disagreed with them. He may believe the jedi must change, but he wouldn't try to displace them by force. Secondly, he didn't strike me as being angry or fearful, two prerequistes for the Dark Side. I actually think that if he lived he would have be the one to fill Luke's role as a balance to the Force. He was able to see the faults in the jedis' philosophy and wanted to work to change the order. If it came to all out war between the Emperor and the Council, my money would be on Qui-Gon to be the man to pick up the pieces when it was all over and rebuild the Council with jedi who were more flexible and able to deal with the changes in the galaxy.
