these Stargate people are highly trusting, telling all these state and military secrets to basically anyone who seems nice....

They're desperate for allies. Huge evil creatures want to kill them, and they're cut off from supplies. Granted, they're /too/ trusting, but still.

Heh, and I now have a Episodic Theory: The more of an jerk that McKay is...the more right he turns out to be.

Granted, I called every little thing before the opening creds, but I highly enjoyed the episode. Is it just me...or is it being quickly established that the Ancients are Inhuman snobs. "We screwed up with the Wraith..but now that we're uberpowerful, we won't rectify that, even if it means seeing our own people, and our (literal and figurative) descendants die."

well, we knew what the Ancients were like well before Atlantis when we saw other beings and even Daniel not be able to do things, or get punished for doing them. Ya, this episode was predictible, but still fun.

We knew...but it was different then. Then itseemed more like high minded ideals...But it seems as if some Ancients ascended before the war with the Wraith. If this is so, then these inhuman snobs let their own people be killed. That's ... That's really harsh.

Of course, for all we know, there's some sort of mystical rule about ascension that even the Ancients have to follow or they all get smacked down.
