Stargate RPG?

I recall there being mention of a Stargate RPG based on the TV series, and I know it's no longer in print. Does anyone have any experience with said rulebooks, and would it be worth my time to track them down given that I'm a SG fan?

With good google-fu, you should be able to find lots of information about the RPG.

The books were excellent resources if you are a fan of the show. I am, and I managed to get all of the books before they went out of print. The print quality was very high, and the books have lots of nice information about the show.

I have no idea of how the game played, though, as I got the books as show resources and out of general interest in all things RPG and all things Star Gate, and never was able to play it.

Thx!

I only managed to get a cursory look at it. I know it used AEG's Spycraft rules and not all the classes meshed properly with the concepts of the series.

I was one of the writers on that team, so I'd be happy to answer specific questions, when possible. My books are in boxes, but I'll do my best.

It was a fun game, if you liked Spycraft. d20 based with a resource system instead of money, since all your equipment is assigned by the government. If a modern d20 game isn't your thing, then this probably isn't either.

Regards.

I played a brief online game of Stargate, where the DM made up the characters.

It was pretty fun, overall. I just wish my DM had remembered that games die if you do not regularly post (water) them.

The system worked well enough,. The books were good, though of course there could have been a lot more wuith the zounds of infornmation the series and spinoffs gave us.

I have the books, and they are good. Well written, and fairly complete.

I played several games, and it was a blast.

I thought the only thing really lacking was a complete published adventure. But there are a lot of adventure seeds in the books easily linked together into an adventure.
