The Gou'ld had used Jaffa as there warriors and they rose up against the Gou'ld and are now trying to form a Jaffa nation which is diffcult because the Gou'ld fought each other and many Jaffa look at each other as enemies.The ancients built the gates and look like we do they became higher beings and some of them have a prime directive about interfering with the lower planes but it looks like some of them went bad and are now the new bad guys.It really is a fresh start though watching the old episodes would be fun they were good too.
