Would a campaign taking off from Stargate SG-1 be viable? Formula: The Stargate is a magic gate that can gate to thousands of other worlds (Eldritch Device!) by dialing an address. Player characters travel to other fantasy worlds. hmm? Okay, here is the setup. I got the Production design almost completed. [sblock=Formula, Theme, and Tone] Formula: The Stargate is a magic gate that can gate to thousands of other worlds (Eldritch Device!) by dialing an address. Player characters travel to other fantasy worlds to battle the Inspired, who rule the galaxy. Theme: Adventure and excitement. Tone: Drama, Action, and wonder.[/sblock] [sblock=Backstory.] On Earth, humans have come about. Rumored to be the Galaxy's second evolution of the Human Form. The humans find the Stargate Network that was built by the Ancients. The humans of Earth then use the Stargate Network to explore and settle other worlds. Humanity soon expanded and explored as far as Faerun, Eberron, Aebyrnis, Oerth, Athas, Yrth, Krynn, and thousands of other worlds. However, on Sarlona, Humanity was certainly taken over by the Quori and became the Inspired. The Humans on Earth, knowing what they have done, took the Stargate in Egypt to North America in the Great Salt Lake Valley in the vast Basin and Range Desert. there, they buried it to prevent the Inspired from coming to Earth and conquering the planet. Meanwhile, the Inspired left Eberron and used the network to build a Galactic Empire: which included Faerun, Oerth, and Aebyrnis. Their system ships patroling their galactic empire using Astral Jump Drives and Globes of Force. Only recently, two groups of humans who were persecuted for their religious and philosophical beliefs, migrated into the Great Salt Lake Valley to be able to believe and worship as they please. They founded Salt Lake City (Salt Lake City), Hunter Village (West Valley City), Ogden (Ogden), and Psionica (Provo). They unburied the Gate while building Hunter Village and set it up in the middle of their village.
