Starting in comics

Thank you Furn, I never would have tried BP if you hadn't made such a good sale job (heck i didn't even know BP had his own title!).

You are more then welcome.

If you, or anyone, wants to see an awesome splash page- pick up the newest issue that came out this week- and flip a few pages in- it shows the wakandan army about to face the white ape cult.

I am not sure I would suggest buying it- since it is a bit confusing if you don't know what is going on, but there are some great moments in the book.

I was wrong about the going into death's realm- the cover fooled me ;)

Yeah. I loved the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen trade. I'm willing to wait for the trade of vol 2 though.

The league is cool, but I would not suggest anyone buy the comics. The incredible delays of the first series was frustrating- so, just wait for the tpb.

I'd suggest looking beyond the big 2...are you only willing to read men-in-tights books?

Err.. I said I read SiP. Katchoo wears tights, I guess, but she is not very manly.

- The 2 non-Marvel JMS titles (Rising Stars & Midnight Nation...cant wait for Dream Police).

Err, I really don't like JMS's writing. I have flipped through Rising Stars and it seems no different from the rest of his stuff.

- Buffy...

I hate the tv show. :D

- Star Wars

I do not care for the movies. *chuckle*

- Nodwick, KODT, PvP, and Dork Tower..'Nuff said.

I do buy KoDT occasionally- but I can't see buying any of them regularly.

- Crossgen...

I have considered these books, but I have heard they have made some anti-Marvel comments.. so I have little use for them if that is true.

Comic book snobs are the worse kind of snobs- they are reading comic books after all.

Thank you for all the suggestions.

I tried Red Star for some time, but the slow release dates drove me to disinterest.

I liked the books Gorilla was putting out, but I did not see there work for some time .. so I figured they disappeared. Oh well.

I haven't really seen any Crossgen anti-Marvel comments. If anything, Marvel's Bill Jemas is usually the one who takes cheap-shots at rival companies.

But I wouldn't judge a comic by the company who publishes it. I'm sure there are both cool folks and total jerks who are working at all of the various companies.
