Enar believed he saw the opportunity of an eternity: the chance to redeem a devil of the Nine Hells. Kalobaros took the floor for debate, but it was no mortal politician who answered his challenge in the chambers. He had not advanced to his current prestige just to be cleaved in two by a celestial's massive blade. Infernal intelligence had not foreseen this; there were no Horned Devils lurking in the wings, no Balor in a handy flask nearby. But then it occurred to him that death here would not be permanent, a mere 99 years before his substance reformed in Baator, and surely being slain by this unexpected foe would be less contemptible than teleporting away like a coward. Suffice to say that, although Enar is not entirely successful in converting Kalobaros, he does get him to emigrate to Mechanus and work as a legal freelancer. He still nominally owes his allegiance to Baalzebul, who is just barely able to tolerate his non-evilness in exchange for having exclusive rights to Kalobaros' service in Hell. I will also write up three adventure hooks to bring Kalobaros into campaigns, as well a few sample encounters.
