Steamtech Reading Suggestions

Captain Tagon

First Post
As far as games go, I see a lot of RPGs coming out lately that claim to be Steamtech or Steampunk or what have you. Now, my question is what would be some fiction available in a steamtech/steampunk setting that I could read?

I like the classics ;)

Jules Verne (if you can get one of the good modern translations, or in the original if you read French) never goes stale, in my opinion. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Mysterious Island, From the Earth to the Moon, Robur the Conqueror -- all are grand books for getting into the setting!

Stretching the definition a bit, the two League of Extraordinary Gentlemen comic series (both available in TPB) are excellent.

You might also want to try Anti-Ice by Stephen Baxter. Its an alternate history novel set in the victorian era. I think that fits but if anyone disagrees, feel free to tell me why.
