Troll

Is it a mythical creature straight out of the fairy tales? Mutant human who just has some powerful abilities? Will it really matter when he is tossing buildings at you? These are but a few of the questions answered in Troll!!

Troll is a super link product for the incredible popular Mutants and Masterminds. Just in case someone is not familiar with the game, it is a super hero game by Green Ronin. They have a special license that allow other companies to make accessories for their game, and that is what brings Troll to us today.

Troll is a small PDF by Big Finger Games. They have some fantasy and other Mutants and Mastermind products PDFs out. Troll is only ten pages long, a nice simple layout in full color, and well book marked. The few pieces of art are nicely done and I like the color character sheet they have for Troll.

So, who is this Troll guy? I like the take they took given first a very simple background that would be useful if the background really does not matter. And there is a nice fully fleshed out back ground that allows for a history of the character and good information and where the character is coming from and why he is the way he is. Troll isa super strong almost invincible character that basically does what he wants. He doesn’t really think ahead too much. He likes fighting, drinking, and women. He can work for someone or just cause havoc on his own.

There are three fun adventure hooks with the character. One has him stealing the player’s vehicle, another has Troll out on the town causing trouble, and the third involves an experiment about to go really wrong. The hooks are surprising varied and show creativity of the writer and fun ways to use the character.

Lastly are the stats of Troll. This is another good thing as Troll is presented as Power Levels ten, thirteen, and sixteen. This can allow him to easily grow with the party or to present the right type of challenge the party needs.

Troll is an interesting NPC that can be simple of complex as is needed. He should be easy to use in most modern M&M games and make for an encounter the players won’t soon forget.
