Are there any spells that protect someone from being turned to stone?
I couldnt find any, but I just assumed since they had a death ward that there has to be something to protect from say a basilisks gaze or a beholders flesh to stone ray.
There is a gaze screen spell in the tome and blood. I believe there is also a protection from petrification spell out there somewhere, maybe in the same book. Stuck at work at the moment, so can't look it up.
I don't know of any protection spells for it, but it was interesting to do a search through a pdf version of the 3.5 SRD and see how many monsters have petrification as an ability....from angels to basilisks to medusas to various others.
