Does anyone know if there have novels, anime; and other movies and games (besides the matrix and tron) about the world of the computer? I know there is reboot and the new megaman show but nay others?

Snowcrash, by Neal Stephenson, is a phenomenal book that kicks the ass of The Matrix.

.hack//sign is a strange anime that has an intriguing concept (the characters are all in a virtual reality MMORPG), but is kind of boring in execution.

well I am looking for stories where there is no hacking or cyberspace. I am talking about novels where the story, setting and characters is from the point of view a computer program and with in a "computer world".

Didn't that Chris Carter show "Harsh Realm" take place in some kind of virtual reality?
Yup. It was pretty good too. Too bad they cancelled it before it had a chance to do any kind of an ending (not that they even would have, knowing Chris Carter).

Diaspora by Greg Egan is a most excellent book. It stars characters that are all computer programs in a massive computer matrix. It begins right off with the main character just becoming a program and how vis(being computer programs they use different pronouns vis/ver being virtual his and virtual her respectively) sentience came about.
Hopefullly this book blows your mind like it did to everyone else I know who read it.
