Story Hours in PDF

I know I can't be the only person who has had this idea, but I haven't seen a post on it.

Is it possible to get some of the best Story Hours in PDF?

I know this may be work intensive for who ever undertook the task, but for myself, I would be willing to purchase a PDF for the convenience of reading the manuscript away from my PC.

Could this be another source of revenue for ENworld?

I would imagine this has already been considered. I also imagine permission would need to be given by the authors. I also doubt that any PDF would generate a substantial amount of revenue, but a small amount may help in the running of this site.

As for choosing which ones, I would believe this would be rather easy. I've seen enough threads touting peoples favorite Story Hours. A message board poll could easily come up with the top picks.

Just some thoughts that I had to put out there. Thanks.

an interesting idea. unforuntately, im not sure it would work. some of the story hours that might command a market are already available in some sort of condensed format. cheiromancer has compiled sepulchrave's into an imminently readable thread (Chronicles of Wyre), greyhawk dm has put most of destan's sins of our fathers story hour into a word document, and piratecat also has word documents available for his epic tale. plus, i think the site already has an option for authors to archive their stuff - but im not sure of the format.

granted, your suggestion would be helpful for some of the longer story hours that aren't AFAIK compiled - wulf's and sagiro's come to mind.

finally, i think a publisher already asked around to see if there was interest in a for-sale story hour compendium - since i havent seen anything materialize, im assuming the judgement was that there weren't enough people willing to buy milk when the cow's for free.

now...i do think a free pdf hosted by this site with, say, 3-5 of the best story hours may be cool. it might encourage people who normally dont venture into the story hour board to take a look at them. this could (hopefully) benefit other, less-heralded story hour authors and increase readership across the board.

it's always a nice day in hotlanta,
W.P.
