[Studio 2] Any news on Ed Greenwood's Castlemorn Campaign Setting?

Knightfall

Ok, we all know that Fast Forward is, basically, dead in the water, but I'd heard that Ed Greenwood was planning to have another d20 company put of the campaign setting.

Has anyone heard anything about Castlemorn? Did it get psuedo-released and slid under the radar?

[EDIT]
Thanks for the news Ghostwind.

Cheers!

I heard that the other company, what was it, 182 or something, was going to come along and publish it, but as we can see, that hasn't happened.

Shame to. I'm no fan of Ed's fiction, but I love his game work.

Studio 2 is set to publish it, but the date of release has yet to be told. The last time I saw a copy of it, it was still in need of editing.

Is there a website for Studio 2? Does Ed have a website?

[EDIT]
Found this old thread with the info, so far, regarding FFE, Castlemorn, and Studio 2.

I'm going to send John an e-mail and ask him what's up.

Castlemorn and Studio 2 Publishing, Inc.

Thanks for the question! To tell the truth, I've been running 100 miles an hour trying to get Studio 2 up and running smoothly. I guess I can take some time to tell everyone what Studio 2 is, what I'm doing with Castlemorn, and where you can find out more.

First of all, Studio 2 does have a website, studio2publishing.com, but right now it's only a placeholder. The site goes up live in the next couple of days. I'm not the computer expert, and suffer from "old fart's disease" (what is this blasted computer thingy, anyway?), so everytime I ask when the site will be up and running, I get the same answer, "two weeks". I feel like Tom Hanks in THE MONEY PIT.

Studio 2 Publishing, Inc. performs several different functions. First of all, it is a sales and marketing/fulfillment company for other publishers that have need of those types of services. Right now my client list contains FanPro, Great White Games, Field Command, and I also sell older inventory for FASA, Fast Forward and Pinnacle. Secondly, Studio 2 fulfills the role of publisher for companies that need that sort of service. Currently, Great White Games is using the publisher services and Studio 2 will be publishing their line of Savage Worlds RPG books and getting them to the marketplace. Finally, Studio 2 is also a producer of our own line of game products. The first of which is the Reaper Miniatures Transport case which releases February 14th.

It's in this third catagory that Ed Greenwood's Castlemorn falls into. Studio 2 will be releasing Castlemorn as an OGL book, hardcover and full color througout, probably for a Gen Con release.

Why is this taking so long? To make a very long and complex story short, Fast Forward had sent the book off to press before stopping publication on it (and everything else). Studio 2 has taken over publication of that book. The book in it's current form still needs to be redone in layout, artwork, and another pass at a final edit. Studio 2 is an army of one - me. So everything that I do, I either do myself or job out for completion. And that is what is taking so long.

Castlemorn will probably see the light of day in the next couple of months as a pdf first, print product second. Right now I'm trying to determine what the best avenue for pdf sales is (and I'm still open to suggestion, btw). As soon as I have a clear direction on where it will be I'll be releasing a press release and solicitation through all the normal channels of distribution.

Castlemorn is an excellent product, and I'm glad to be associated with it. Ed is fantastic to work with and is one of the most creative individuals I've ever met. Hopefully, this will be the start of a long line of Castlemorn products. There is a board game based on Castlemorn that is finished, really fun, and should see production in the near future.

I'll also start to post here every once in a while to keep everyone up to date on what Studio 2 is doing with our roleplaying releases.

Again, thanks to everyone for your patience!
