Stupid credit card companies...

Given how much money they make off of you, why don't they use priority mail (or even registered) when sending you a new credit card because the old one expired?

I was going to sign up for Gamefly, but my card expired this month (July) and haven't gotten the new one yet and so it wouldn't let me. So I call up my credit card company, and they say I should get it in 7-10 business days. So like in 2 weeks basically.

(My fault, actually, I thought June had 31 days, so I put it off one day too late to try to sign up)

Though it's weird, on my last statement, they gave me a new number (which I used when I sent the payment it and it got credited to my account). So actually trying to get customer service on the phone was a nightmare, because I didn't know which one to use.

Yeah, that's been my experience, too, or closer to a couple weeks. I guess it got lost in the mail? I dunno. When I called them, they didn't say if they would send a new one or if they hadn't sent it yet (little hard to understand, so I didn't ask many questions. And why I didn't call earlier)

Like I said, they should spend a little extra money to make sure it arrives to the right person (and in a timely manner). It costs what, $5 at most to send something priority with tracking? (Probably a lot less for a letter). I think they can afford it.

Anyway, while they gave me the new number with my statement, they didn't give me a expiration date, and you also generally need to activate it before it works, and you need the numbers on the back of the card.

Oh yeah, forgot about the activation process. I wonder if you could ask for expedited delivery. "Can you do that for me? I've been a long-time customer, yadda, yadda, yadda."
