Submission Templates

Hey guys!

I'm in the process of getting a couple of articles ready to submit to DDI (for the online Dragon and Dungeon and such), but I have run into a small problem. The tactical encounter template references other documents- such as the 'stat block style document'- but I can't seem to find them.

Does anyone know where the whole list of "how to submit stuff to us" documents is?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Are you writing queries or actual articles?

Well, I'm working on the articles some first to get an idea of word count, but actually sending queries in first.

The existing submission guidelines seem like they were written in the 3.5 era.

Those templates are from the 3.5e era. I did use the tactical encounter template when I wrote the 3.5e version of the Oasis of the Golden Peacock, but I did not use it when I re-wrote the tactical encounters for the 4e version. I got some additional materials from WotC when I wrote the 4e version, which included some style guidelines, but its not something they would post on their website. In your position, if you are going to write the articles out first, then I would just format the stat blocks according to how WotC normally does it in their adventures. If your articles does get accepted and any materials they send you don't answer your questions, then I would ask whoever is assigned to work with you for clarification.

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

It's kind of weird, really. You'd think that WotC would want to encourage submissions by posting current guidelines in order to help build up the next generation of players, dms and designers.

While they could use an update, those guidelines are pretty general, so they're still useable in 4e.
