In support of an upcoming project I am in need of a piece of art depicting a large subterranean waterfall cavern. The piece will be used as the cover for a 16 page pdf supplement for the Guardians of the Underhalls sourcebook released by Dragon Scale Counters earlier this year. The budget for artwork in this supporting book is small, but this job could still be a way for an aspiring artist to practice their craft, get published, and earn a little money towards that copy of CS2 you just bought (or want to buy). The need is immediate. The exact composition and medium are open to artist interpretation, but the final form delivered to us must be a tif image of 150 dpi or greater. Artist retains full rights to the piece. Interested artists are encouraged to reply directly to me at theogre@hugeogre.com with a rough conceptual pencil sketch. I've pasted in a description from the book below to help you conceptualize the piece. Also known as the “Heart Waters”, NineFalls is a colossal display of the aquifers of the UnderEarth. Residing in the center of an enormous cavern, NineFalls is actually more than a dozen underground rivers converging and falling hundreds of feet from the ceiling of the cave into a great lake below. Several of the smaller waterfalls join at intervals around the cavern, ultimately creating the nine huge falls for which the area is known. The noise created by the cascading water is immense, and can be heard for nearly a mile in all directions, even through solid rock. The cavern which holds NineFalls is oval shaped and nearly 1,000 feet across. Most of “floor” of the cavern is occupied by the lake, while the ceiling of the cavern rises 400 feet above the surface of the lake before tapering to a jagged point. Here the myriad of rivers flow into the cavern and into each other. The force of the falls create huge pluming clouds of mist that obscure vision in the vast chamber and make travel across the stone floor treacherous. Strange luminous lichen thrive in the mists giving the cavern an eerie blue green glow. Fish and crustaceans populate the lake in great numbers and giant varieties haunt the depths of the lake whose depth has never been measured. The floor of this vast cavern is composed of a black slippery rock constantly moistened by the torrent. From any of the entrances the floor dips noticeably toward the lake in the center of the room, almost as if it were a huge bowl.
