pukunui is a player in my games, DMs his own games, and also a beta tester that gets to see and review preview versions of most adventures before they are even released. We have no problems with the fact he knows a lot of an adventure I might run - in fact it's pretty hard these days to use published adventures and not have someone who knows something about it. You just have to be mature enough to make sure you don't abuse that level of player knowledge, and play the game that's in front of you. I've run Curse of Strahd, and it wasn't a problem, because not only is that adventure designed to be somewhat randomised, it's also do dense that it provides a lot of latitude for the DM to improvise and create something that no-one, not even the DM, could predict up front. I'm also currently running Storm King's Thunder, and while I've also changed and added a lot, the bits that I know he does know or at least recognise, are not a problem, in fact sometimes it's good having someone who has a basic knowledge of the setting and so on, it can actually help having a player help the campaign come alive especially if other players (and me as DM) are not Forgotten Realms experts. For example, he plays a Noble from Waterdeep, who can be expected to know plenty of stuff.
