Mmmk. So the new situation (if things go perfect...): Cleric/Sorc are anticipating the arrival of the PCs due to alertness from previous battle sounds and hearing the death cry of their ally, the NPCs prepare for battle. The Sorc casts Fog Cloud which will spread through the entire room. The PCs will position themselves accross from the NPCs for the confrontation giving the fighters/tanks the opportunity to charge. Upon charging, they trigger the pit falling to (hopefully) certain death, and also triggering the silence trap for no way to yell for help if they are somehow still alive. If they are stupid, which is still a possibility, the entire party will fall in the pit, the fog will eventually fade, and the 2 NPC casters barely broke a sweat. If by some chance they blow the fog away and notice a giant hole in the ground, the cleric casts summon monster 5 to grab (probably) a med. earth elemental. The elemental will be summoned behind job will be to charge and bull rush whichever PC is closest to the pit (or whichever seems to provide the least resistance). My original plans included a blade barrier at the entrance to prevent escape, but I was thinking it was a 5th level, not 6th. *snaps his fingers* And unfortunately, prismatic wall is definitely out of the question. :] So anyway, this should at least create 1 death. The party has yet to suffer a fatality. This should kill their streak. O Fortuna smile upon me! We meet Saturday nights, so Sunday afternoon, if I remember, heh, I'll give you guys an update on what happened. :D
