Summoned or conjured creatures?

Spectrum Rider

First Post
The description of "Protection From Evil" makes reference to "summoned or conjured creatures (see the Monster Manual)."

Does the MM actually say anything about this? Because I can't din it.

The spell vaguely implies that it's talking about (among other things) elementals and outsiders. My question is: what about some of the non-standard familiars (such as a Small air elemental), or a paladin's mount that happens to be an outsider? Are they "summoned or conjured creatures" for the purposes of the spell?

A summoned or conjured creature is a monster summoned or conjured by a spell (or similar), such as Summon Monster, Planar Binding, Planar Ally, Summon Swarm, etc.

An outsider is not automatically a summoned or conjured creature, it depends on how it got there.
Neither a paladin's mount nor a familiar is summoned nor conjured.
