This is a bit of a silly one because Superman is clearly hurt far, far, far, far, far less by each individual attack from Zod than a human would be with a human of similar size and strength hitting him the same number of times at a normal human speed with normal human strength. Like, if I got hit anywhere near as many times as Superman does in that fight (or slammed into objects - even ones relatively softer than me), I'd probably be dead from head/neck trauma and/or internal bleeding (in either brain or abdomen). Superman doesn't even have a split lip or a black eye! Let alone a broken nose! Also no way that's the first fight he's ever been in. The first with a Kryptonian, sure, but his form is insanely too good for him not to be a highly practiced combatant. He doesn't throw punches like a five-year-old or a sheltered only child (something I've witnessed lol). Everything he does in that fight he does with incredible, shocking confidence. The man flies through falling buildings without even blinking. Hypersonic punches are lovetaps to him. You can watch it on YouTube if you don't believe me. EDIT - Also rewatching it wow they take pains to show how extremely unevacuated the city is, how everyone is still there, which means the "body count in the thousands" is absolutely canon. EDIT EDIT - Man he gets gutpunched so hard by Zod that there are indeed supersonic shockwaves radiating from it, and Superman reacts less than I would if a CHILD play-punched me in the gut lol, like he doesn't react AT ALL. Literally nothing. He no-sells it. Zod actually looks like he's struggling hard to have any effect on Superman for a lot of that fight. Clearly a hypersonic punch is less than child's play to Superman.
