Lot's of Super Hero goodness coming up! Most excellent. I am really enjoying the Supers20 rules. I've been looking for a Super Hero RPG for quite awhile that fit my gaming style and Supers20 is it!

Hey Chuck,
Im a n0ob, so I'll ask a dumb Q: Do I need to purchase Modern d20 core rule book to play Supers 20? Or just get Supers rule book?

Having Modern20 will definitely let you get the most out of Supers20.

The NPCs in the book, for example, are built using modern20 classes, there are 4 new occupations which are built to use Modern20 and some of powers rely on Modern20's reputation system.

However, the powers themselves are just feats and work off the standard d20 damage mechanic (hit points).

So it could work reasonably well with any d20 system. Besides the things already mentioned, the only possible snag I can think of would be that the system assumes you get a feat every level, which is the standard in Modern20.

So far I am LOVING d20 supers, I had been using M&M system for awhile, but this flows so much better and combat feels more authentic.

Just curious - aside from Chucks conversions, anyone know of links to any famous toon write-ups in d20 Supers?

I am building a world of mixed DC/Marvel for my PC's to run around in. The converts Vig did helped alot with scale of Super to super. Just seeing if anyone else has seen any other examples.

Hi Chuck,

I've been enjoying running Supers20 alot.

I have a couple of questions:

1) Is there a particular reason you chose D4 per PL for damage? I'm mostly just curious. Its not often a designer is so active. No criticism.

2) Powers such as Aura & Blast have Saves for 1/2. How do you feel balance would be affected by removing those saves? I ask this because we are looking at tweaking Modern20 to Defenses instead of Saves. My gut tells me just to tweak the powers to be vs Ref, Fort or Will, instead of AC.

Once again, thanks for all the fun & I look forward to the revision of Modern20.

I don't have anything like that....but I've been working on some adventures for Supers20 and I've got a lot of NPCs, many of whom bare at least a passing resemblance to some famous comic characters.

If you've got any specific requests - I might have an NPC on my hard drive that fits the bill...

AS far as follow on books for Supers20...

We will be seeing:
  • Villain or Allies Books
  • Campaign support for the upcoming, "Dark Future"
  • more supers dispatches (the current ones are great)

Just wondering...

Regards,
Walt

Ohh MAN!!! Thanks!
I've got the Supers20 Rules, but haven't had time to really get into them like I want too. Having examples likes this really helps me to get my head around what you can do.
Thanks!
Bill

Damn - well Chuck beat me to the punch.
You can't get much better than the author of the system - so I'll consider myself scooped on this one.

Hey quick - if you're knocking out requests - any chance of seeing a Nova Centurion?

I'd like to see a Nova Centurion as well. I'm loving the new Guardians of the Galaxy series, as well as, the new Nova series!
Another question...
can the rules do a Green Lantern Corpsman??
Oh and another question.... Sorry, for bombarding you.
Any plans to release Supers20 in print form?
