I caught the last 20 minutes or so, since I had run out of stuff to watch on my DVR and had 20 minutes until football started. I saw "hot but scummy sister making out with dude, and then interrupted by baby sea monster, which doesn't look at all like a small stupid CGI lizard." I continue to be impressed by their budget -- the number of outdoor shots, the number of boats used, the apparently on-location shots, all great stuff. Only the baby lizard looked stupid to me as far as the effects went -- the final shot with the monster coming up from below looked really really good. And I continue to be annoyed by their writing -- and by the fact that they're trying to be mysterious with the secret army folks and all that, but they've already shown us enough good shots of the monster to kind of steal the suspense. Dude, we didn't care about the secret army folks. It's either a good secret society or an evil secret society, and neither kind is scary at this point. We cared about the sea monster, and you've just shown us enough of it that, well, the suspense is gone. Anyone on this board who watched the show could probably stat the monster in D&D terms. Starts small, grows big, EMP-shock-thing to stun prey, attacks with two claws and a bite and probably has Swallow Whole and Improved Grab. Ta-dah.
