The way I saw it, once, a long time ago, Rains family was powerful and favoured. At some point during the Age of Monsters, the the family was approached by a faction of the dragons with the aim of creating an alliance in order to open communication between the two races, and put an end the devastating wars that occurred between the two races. It was a risky gambit, and it failed. The curse/bloodline/affinity whatever that Rain is experiencing is a result of that alliance. The feat is pure flavour. As you pointed out, the characters are never likely to even set foot on Aerenal and so the feat will have little in game value. I just like the idea. I have this image of her, many years down the track probably, fronting up to the City of the Dead looking to exercise her right of counsel. Powerful forces would be against her. Does she have allies of her own? Can she convince the to grant her her right? To let her live? What could be so important as to make her take such a terrible risk in the first place? I think it would be an awesome scene. So thats what I was thinking. Of course, the feat doesn't have to be taken now (although it seems odd that it is something a character could 'gain' rather than having from birth). There are a lot of other feats that would be more useful now, so saying no would probably be doing the character a favour. If given the choice, I would take it (which is why I can't min/max for peanuts). But if it jars, and you are not happy with it, I will take something else. So I will leave it up to you. I'm happy with whichever choice you make. thotd
