126 views. Tough crowd. We do have a new player (not through enworld) but could still use 1-2 more players. Anyway, here's the latest recap. New session is this Friday. Players : Eric, Wes, Norm, Terry, Brad, Raul (new guy) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Date: C.Y.1980.01.13 On a tiny island somewhere East of Delila XP (Session 45): 1750 ----------------------------------------------------------------- Recap : Byron demonstrated his intellect and filled in the runes puzzle answer resulting in another of the odd little silver ankhs being deposited on the floor. Grabbing that and moving on the next room held a water elemental in full plate. The group was able to converse with him and he let them know his name was Prime. After a brief discussion the group and Prime moved forward through a door. The next room held what appeared to be a normal housecat on a red velvet cushion upon a stone pedestal. After some brief discussion Byron knew of no special protocol so the group moved forward. Some of the group were struck with inspiration and were able to talk with the cat, Byron was after all a junior chipmunk OK, let me explain this. We use "action cards" every session that serve as cool little buffs throughout the session. They work in the same manner as hero points and such. Anyway, they all tend to have really cheesy titles from various pop culture references and this one was "wait, I used to be a junior chipmunk" and allows the character to talk with animals for a few minutes. Some cards are really cool, some are really lame, some fall into cool or lame based on the circumstances. This one (and the rest) wound up being pretty funny.. The cat served the pyramid and would observe the party's progress through the hallway of testing. Ergos much have been wearing musk de cat that day because the cat, named Sanura, seems to have taken a liking to him another card was played. Prime also had an intuitive understanding of animal languages due to long hours spent with a dog named Lassie this card was "what's that girl? Timmy fell down the well" and lets the character get some form of useful information from an animal. Prime was able to verify the conclusions Byron had reached and the party moved on with Sanura in tow. Byron felt certain that Prime needed to mount Sanura's pillow but Sanura hissed at him and he stopped. With further egging however Prime was somehow convinced that jacking with, er I mean investigating the cat's pillow seemed like a good idea. Prime climbed up and Sanura seemed to go into a frenzy of claws and fangs and within seconds Prime was limping away from the pedestal and pillow. Sanura calmly licked and groomed her fangs and fur and nonchalantly followed the party out of the room with an air of detached disdain. The next room was magically dark but Icky's blindsight revealed a huge armored half-scorpion, half-man creature clad in full plate. The far door held a dozen latches which would be difficult to open whilst being pulverized by the scorpion man. By working together the group managed to get the door open and everyone through in no time at all and Ergos bravely stayed behind to see everyone safely through the room. The next chamber was empty but the one after that held a relatively simply and modest alter to Ra. While searching it, Byron was apparently taken over in some manner. He warned the group that he was a high priest Amsu serving the pyramid and that they must proceed past this alter, leaving it undisturbed, and if they passed the trials of the pyramid they should return to converse with Amsu. The next corner rooms held some sarcophagi, but the party didn't mess with them and nothing seemed to happen. Beyond that lay a hallway which would douse the party in acid. After buffing up however the group managed to make it past. Oddly the hallway did not shower Tau Rii when he brought up the rear. The next chamber held a pool of inky black water with narrow stone walkways above it. As the party was crossing menacing black tentacles with eyeballs along them rose up and attacked the party. At this point Aakeem, and Ergos are being grapple and unable to breath. Icky jumped into the fight voluntarily and is also grappling, and Prime managed to disperse, reform, and climb out onto the far bank of the water. Sanura, like Tau Rii seems uninterested and is passing the time licking her paws while the party fights desperately in the chamber beyond.
