Shroud of the Sea: I like it Note on the spell-like abilities. As we discussed about the Battle master/tricks issue, the abilities should be quite powerful. If one needs to expend a spell slot to get an effect, I think it should emulate at least a +1 or even +2 spell level. So your Druid example is fine. 1 or 2 levels to fit with the missing archetype slot... I remember D&d 2th edition specialist mage to be able to cast an higher level spell than usual, so THERE IS a precedent... in a previous edition. Mystic Navigation Simple as a ritual to get a ship that navigate all by itself ? Basic proficiency, the least, say +2 to all rolls... it replaces an entire crew. Splice the Main Brace as a trick should restricted to bards or inspiring leader feat owners. Song of rest, yes, carousing may be a rest. It should expend these abilities to a higher amount of allies, the entire crew up, to 60 people. Restriction: while carousing. Song of rest affects every listener. Let's say the bard goes from one table to the other... Now we have a suitable sea mage archetype. I hope you have enough inspiration and help to update your post now! For the swashcorsair :), please compare fighter vs barb vs rogue etc. ex: freestyle should be apply to fighter earlier than other classes... I own Swashbuckler campaign for d20 3th (based on 7&th sea game). It has very specific rules I can't post here because of forum rules about copyrights, etc. Or can I ? It is not the scope of D&D 5th to have rules too complex ... So I think you should remove mention of your campaign specifics to post "generic" archetypes...
