Astral Admin - Mwahahaha!
We've recently moved our SW campaign from the original d20 to the revised rulebooks, and we've come across what seem to be a couple of oddities. I was wondering whether anyone else has come across them and whether you have decided to do anything about them (or leave as is).
1. We love the new DR rules, but are concerned that almost every single creature in the book appears, shall we say, unadjusted? They tend to have huge "natural" bonuses which add to their defence class (?) and no DR at all. It looks as if they have just moved these creatures across whole-cloth without actually thinking through how they might fit into the new way of handling armour. We end up with big clumsy rancors which have a defence score that would put a jedi guardian to shame!
2. (a carry over from original version, but accentuated now) It seems strange that while the forgery skill is used for changing electronic documents, the credit chip still requires a "computer use" skill roll to adjust its monetary value. The computer use skill has acquired welcome expansion in the revised rules, but it seems out of place here. Traditionally one of the key elements of forgery is counterfeiting - fake currency - and it seems much more likely that the Forgery skill should be used to alter (forge) credit chip values or identities.
Cheers
