With Topple he gets a save, and even if he fails the save, most of the time he has enough movement to just stand back up. Topple tends to work better on maximum damage builds. </p><p></p><p>There is no reason you can't do both though, have both a longsword and a Trident and switch out based on situation and at level 9 fighter you can use Sap with any weapon.</p></blockquote><p></p>
