After fighting many CC1 and and CC2 monsters (my character is 15th level now) I can tell from both my experience as DM, my DM:s experience when I play, and my experience when I was player, that even correcter CR:s are for most parts laughtable. If we used CR as guideline as to what is suitable for certain level party, they would end up dead pretty fast. I have bias for CR:s and especially ECL:s anyway, so I can't say I am satisfied with everything in Monster Manual either, much less with those from WotC website.However, I think many CR:s from all mentioned books work correctly, but those that don't..um.I don't think there are any additional offical versions, but I've seen some people working on alternative ECL system at least, don't know about CR:s. Personally I got rid of ECL entirely, so don't know about that so much.</blockquote>
