Swordmage Demensional Charge

Hi guys, im new to dungeons and dragons in general so 4e is kinda confusing for me and some of the wording on some of powers are even worse, I am an Eladrin Swordmage of lvl 30 with the pargaon pathway malec-jen. and epic destiny Arcane sword...using the lvl 30 Epic pathways ability spellsword perfection i can choose any arcane encounter attack power and make it an at will power...naturally i chose my lvl 27 encounter power dimensional charge...its a 4w hit and it has a funny wording....it says "before the attack you can choose to teleport 10 squares to a square adjacent to the target. If you do, the attack is a charge." does this mean that the attack is a charge and is my basic attack only? or is it still the 4w hit when i choose to teleport?

It's still a 4[W] attack but is treated as if it were a charge and thus benefits from all bonuses and penalties that apply to charges. So +1 Bonus to the Attack Rolls, but after you resolve a charge attack, you can’t take any further actions on that turn. Feats that affect charges apply, like Charging Aegis, or Powerful Charge.

ok thank you, with the wording we werent sure if it was saying that i made a seprate charge attack with my basic attack instead of the 4w hit.

If everyone in your group is just starting out with the game, it's a good idea to start at level 1, rather than 30. The game is just as fun, trust me. It's even more fun, in fact, because you can watch your character grow and become better, stronger, faster. You'll also have more time to polish your skills with the class. If you've played a Swordmage all the way from 1 to 30, combat will flow naturally as you picked up the tricks one by one.
