SWSE Bounded accuracy

Well I have thought sort about, I was thinking a few things. First make proficiency bonuses go from +2 to +8, change Skill Focus to adding +1/2 you Proficiency bonus (round down) and then re-working Saves. I thought about 1/2 per level but that might be too much. Not sure about that one.

But I don't play Saga anymore (although this has kind of re-sparked my interest :) hehe)

On my way home from work I thought about it some more and somewhat changed my mind... I would keep the Proficiency base bonus the same (+2 to +6) and then Skill Focus would have the same affect as Expertise (proficiency bonus twice). Then base Defenses would be 1/3 character levels (round up) plus their best Class bonus and Attribute modifiers.

Now you have to re-work the TN for most skills. In Saga most are in increments of 5 but I would go 2 then 3, then 2 starting at 8 (so TN would go 8, 10, 13, 15, 18, 20, 23 and 25).

I was thinking about allowing some of the low-powered Force Powers to lasting longer but might have to just go through all of them one by one

Did anyone change SWSE from d20 system like dnd 3.x to a system like dnd 5th( bounded accuracy)?
They might as well. SWSE is basically D&D3.9 anyway. See this thread:
http://www.enworld.org/forum/showth...om-Star-Wars-Saga-Edition&highlight=star+wars

I wouldn't call 5th edition by the name "bounded accuracy." BA is just a consequence of the design philosophy. It's buffed hit points, and streamlined everything else. 3.5 Lite.

I'm using the game in my signature for everything now, but my next Sci-Whatever game will be a toss up between Star Wars and Fifth Element.

Yea I am going back and forth on this myself.... do I want to houserule Saga over with a bunch of 5th ed. stuff or do I want to create a bunch of new classes for D&D 5th?? Not sure what is the best answer :D

I'd suggest going the new classes for 5E route, if only because of availability.

it is (and used version of Saga are insanely expensive online) but the "advantage" I see is that you have more options to build your character. I am not sure that 5th is. I do very much like 5th ed. and have seen some interesting write up here and elsewhere...

So I have been playing around with a lot of ideas on this and I think I have settled on some mad mix of both Star Wars Saga rules and 5th ed.

My basic idea right now is using most of the action/combat system from 5th ed. and re-working the Talents and Feats into that system. I just think that the classes from Saga let you build a bit more of the character that you want. In D&D it’s a bit too rigid for my tastes, even with Archetypes. So I want a mixed.

I know it is crazy but I have starting working it out. I will post some ideas here later to see what people think :D
