To their alarm, Gun Monkey is picked off in mid-air. He falls to the ground in a smoldering heap, not moving. Pandora is still a fair distance off, but throws the first of the concrete blocks. The block hits several of the bugs but only one is destroyed. It seems to her that if the blocks were thicker they might be more effective. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: 10px"></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 10px">Elsewhere… Spirit tries to take over the mad genius’ mind again, but is easily repelled. He’s beginning to think that Dr. Null’s mind might be a little too powerful for him to take over. As he begins to leave the cockpit of the tripod, an electrical hum fills the air. Amazingly, for perhaps the first time since his transformation into Spirit, he feels an electrical surge through his incorporeal being. </span></p><p><span style="font-size: 10px"></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 10px">Toad makes his leap over the army of bots. Six of bugs fire blasts at the two heroes as they pass overhead. Four of the blasts miss, but one connects on Toad. He drops Roughneck and comes to a rough rolling stop at the base of the tripod walker. Roughneck is also hit. He feels a burning pain just before he’s dropped roughly to the ground. Four bugs are between him and Toad. Forty are now behind him. He feels a little less confident about the course of action they have taken as about half of the robots turn to face him and the acrobatic Toad.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 10px"></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 10px">Body sees the simian hit the deck, and realizes he’s hurt badly.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 10px"></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 10px"></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 10px">OCC: GM is staggered for two rounds. Roughneck is bruised. Spirit is bruised (creator of the game built in that trick for the good doctor). Sorry I”ve been neglecting the game. The good news is that I’m back from vacation. Other than a few weekends here and there I’ll be around to keep everything going. Now that we are down to the showdown with Null (don’t forget the army of bots) I’m hoping we can push through to the end.</span></p></blockquote><p></p>
